Ruth - Clinton Rowand (1039) - February 14, 2016

The book of Ruth takes place during the time of the judges.  It is the story of King David’s great grandmother and how she became a part of David and eventually Christ’s family tree.  Ruth is a story of love, faithfulness, commitment and God’s providence.  Ruth made her choice to follow her mother in law Naomi back to Bethlehem and join the nation of Israel.  Boaz noticed Ruth as she gleaned in his field and he took care of watching out for during the barley and wheat harvests.  The later married and had a son named Obed.  Obed had a son named Jesse and Jesse had a son named David.  David became the second King of Israel.
