Ask for Laborers - Clinton Rowand (1046) - February 28, 2016
Matthew 9:35-38
While the religious leaders and politicians of Jesus day fought over power; Jesus went about the small villages, synagogues and the big cities teaching the lost and healing the sick. The people were harassed and helpless as the text said. They were sheep without a shepherd. People are lost today and need Jesus in the 21st century just like the 1st century. Instead of seeing a negative situation Jesus saw a positive opportunity to reach the lost. He described the harvest a ready when looking at the people and told his disciples to pray for laborers. The disparity of today should lead us to greater service because the fields are ready for harvest. We just need more laborers to do God’s will.
